For as long as I can remember, I have been a "creator". When I was a kid, the dining room wall in my family's apartment looked like a makeshift art gallery. If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I'd say "an artist".
When I was in college my mom gave me her old paint box and oil paints, and I started experimenting. I have dabbled in surrealism, hyperrealism, and abstract art, depicting various subject matter over the years.
More recently I have gravitated toward painting nature because I love the idea that everyone’s perspective is unique, and I can give people a glimpse of my personal perspective. I can take a popular landmark and accentuate the parts of it that I find beautiful and can inspire others to notice things they never noticed before. My thought is something like, “This is where I stood. This is what I saw. Now you can see it too”.
Through my commissioned work, I have been blessed to create meaningful custom artworks for people. I love the idea of painting something that has specific significance to a specific person, and I feel privileged to be able to commemorate moments and experiences in the lives of other humans.
